Makayla Larntz

Makayla Larntz is the president and chapter founder of Letters for Rose, a new club at Chandler High School. By sending letters and artwork to residents in nursing homes, this nationwide organization committed to community service spreads positivity during these uncertain times. Makayla is excited to bring this positive impact to our school and make a difference in our community. She was introduced to this organization by her best friend, who later prompted her to start a branch at Chandler High. For her, the process of starting a club was fun, which she credits to her amazing sponsor, Mrs. Kemp. Makayla describes how this club not only brightens the lives of the nursing home residents, it brightens the lives of members as well: “Seeing how simple letter writing can make a smile on someone’s face made me want to be a part of an amazing organization…”. This club provides an opportunity for outreach and community service hours during this pandemic. New members are encouraged by Makayla and accepted every week ,“On behalf of the Letters for Rose team, we would love to see more people interact with everyone in the community. I’m so lucky that I’m a part of making a difference.”

If you’re interested in joining Letters for Rose, please go see Mrs. Kemp in room 214!
